Our Pacific Pepper Verdelait starts with the same creamy, slightly sweet milk character that runs through the Verdelait collection, then builds in a warm, lively pepper heat.
What makes it especially local is the habanero. We source habanero peppers from Vancouver Island farms, then hand dry them before adding them to the cheese. That careful process concentrates their flavour and gives Pacific Pepper a bright, fruity heat rather than simply making it hot.
A touch of Canadian salt helps bring the milk, pepper and savoury notes into balance. The result is a cheese that moves from creamy and sweet to gently smoky, fruity and spicy, with enough heat to keep things interesting without losing the flavour of the cheese itself.
It is excellent on burgers, sandwiches and grilled dishes, but it also stands out beautifully on a cheeseboard or melted into a warm dish.
Pacific Pepper Verdelait is a true Vancouver Island cheese: creamy local milk, Canadian salt, and hand-dried Island-grown habaneros brought together in a balanced, flavourful bite.
